Bidhannagar resident loses Rs 14 lakh after his phone no. gets blocked by credit card fraud

Bidhannagar South police station made a significant breakthrough by apprehending two individuals involved in a credit card fraud gang.

The arrest followed a complaint lodged on February 25 by a Bidhannagar resident who fell victim to a credit card scam. The complainant discovered unauthorized online purchases amounting to approximately Rs 14 lakh made using his blocked credit card. Prompted by the complaint, Bidhannagar police initiated an investigation that led to the arrest of Somnath Sarkar and Ankita Poddar from Thakurpukur on Wednesday.
